Our Work · Impact record

The work, in numbers and in context

I want this record to show what I’ve taught and how the work develops. At the moment, the clearest numbers are the classes, attendance, and teaching time documented below. As I add learning checks and follow-up to future sessions, I’ll be able to describe more of what happens after the lesson.

July 2026

CAPAC

In July 2026, I volunteered with the Creative and Performing Arts Center (CAPAC) in Prince William County, Virginia, helping distribute financial-literacy books as part of the approximately $1,900 book contribution connected to my work with Arts for All Initiative.

How these figures are counted

Attendance is counted for each class. Someone attending two future sessions would contribute two attendances, so the combined figure should not be read as a count of unique people. Zaila’s attendance was recorded as approximately 27, which makes the combined total approximate too.

Teaching time includes the two sessions listed here. It does not include preparation, travel, or other work without a detailed entry in this record. My earlier financial-literacy work with Ikram Foundation is not included in these totals, and the CAPAC book contribution below is recorded once, separately from the classes.

What I want to understand next

For the next stage with SAHARA, I want to ask a few specific questions: Was an explanation clearer by the end of a lesson? Which examples needed more time? Did someone return to a resource later? I’ll use those questions to improve what I teach and how I document it.
